Start By:a. remove track groupb. disconnect idler hydraulic cylinder (rod end)
The track take-up circuits contain trapped oil under pressure. The removal of any fittings before releasing the trapped oil can result in personal injury. To prevent personal injury, relieve pressure using the track take-up valve pilot operated relief valve. Refer to Track Take-Up Valve Removal & Installation for location of valve.
1. Remove bolt (1), lockwasher and retainer. Remove pin (2). Disconnect rod end (3) from idler group (4). 2. Support the idler with lift truck forks (6). Use chain (8) to attach to forks. Remove two cotter pins from bottom side of two lower pins (7). Drive the lower pins upward and out of the frame and idler group. Remove two snap rings with 2P8312 Retaining Ring Pliers (A) from the top side of the two upper pins (5). Drive the upper pins downward and out of the frame and idler group. 3. Remove idler group (4) from the machine using lift truck forks (6) and chain (8). The weight of the idler group is 97 kg (215 lb). Start By:a. remove front idler group 1. Remove four bolts (8) and washers (14). Remove cover (7).2. Remove three bolts (13). Remove plate lock (6), retaining plate (12), and shim (5). Note the number of shim for later installation.3. Remove bearing (11). Remove idler (10) with hoist and strap from spindle assembly (1). Remove seal (2) from idler if necessary. Remove bearing (9). Remove cups (3) and (4) from the idler if the bearings are replaced. Check bearings and cup and replace if necessary. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for lubrication information. For assembly of front idler group, reverse the disassemble steps.End By:a. install front idler group
