The high pressure cut-off valve can be permanently removed from the pump. Before repairing or eliminating valve, refer to page 1 of the September 9, 1991 Service Magazine, SEPD0082, "New Main Hydraulic Pumps Do Not Have High Pressure Cut-Off (HPC) Control, New Control Valves Used".If the valve is repaired, any damaged parts in this valve must be replaced with new parts. Reusing damaged parts will adversely affect the control characteristics of the pump during testing and while in operation on the vehicle.The high pressure cut-off valve should only be disassembled if:
evidence of contamination is present during the pump disassembly, or
the pump is being rebuilt after the failure of internal components.
