Apply Tooling (B) onto the face of two hard washers (13) and the threads of two bolts (14). Position one plate (15) and install two hard washers (13) and two bolts (14).

Apply Tooling (B) onto the face of hard washers (5) and the threads of bolts (4). Install three locks (6), six hard washers (5), and six bolts (4).Note: Position lock (6) to the outside of the piston.
Repeat Step 4 through Step 6 for the remaining piston and elbow.

(21) Exhaust Elbow Subassembly
Apply Tooling (B) onto the face of sixteen hard washers (2) and the threads of eight bolts (1). Install plates (7), two elbow subassemblies (21), sixteen hard washers (2), eight bolts (1), and eight nuts (3) onto one bracket assembly (12).Note: Install the bolts and washers hand tight.

(22) Exhaust Subassembly
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to position exhaust subassembly (22) onto the truck body. The weight of exhaust subassembly (22) 120 kg (265 lb). Apply Tooling (B) onto the face of eleven hard washers (2) and the threads of eleven bolts (4). Install eleven hard washers (2) and eleven bolts (4).Note: Install the bolts and washers hand tight.Alignment Procedure
Note: The truck body and canopy must be installed to adjust the compression of the piston spring and to align the exhaust elbows. Refer to the truck body and canopy installation procedure in this document.
If assembling the exhaust at ground level, perform the following step after the truck body and canopy has been installed.

(22) Exhaust Subassembly
With the truck body in the DOWN position, Install or remove plates (7) as needed to achieve a 100 10 mm (4 0.4 inch) compressed length of the piston spring (9) with the truck body down.Note: The piston must travel freely over the full operating distance.
Align the exhaust subassembly (22) with the exhaust elbows on the mufflers and the truck body exhaust port. Once the exhaust subassembly (22) has been aligned with the exhaust elbows on the mufflers and the truck body exhaust port, tighten bolts (4) and bolts (1) to a final torque.Commission the Truck
After the truck has been fully assembled, commission the truck. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS6122, "Commissioning Procedure for the 797F and the 797F XQ Off-Highway Truck" for the correct procedure.
