Location of the Weld Link and Cable Strap to Improve Sensor Life
Note: The effectivity of the weld link for the D6R Series III is for the following tractors: (S/N: MRT1-466; GJB1-799; WRG1-702; WCB1-223; HDC1-251; HCD1-167; HKE1-244)An additional link and a cable strap should be added to D6R machines in order to provide the proper strain relief at the connector.Note: The link will only be applicable to the D6R.Location of the Weld Link on the D6R.

The following illustrations represent the proper placement of cable straps and the proper routing of the wire leads in order to provide proper strain relief.

The extra length of the harness has been tied down. The connector is also tied down at the harness clip.Note: The wiring harness is not pulled too tightly. This view is at the back of the sensor.

The sensor's pigtail is grouped properly. No portion of the harness is untied. The wires are not pulled tightly at the sensor.Unacceptable Strain Relief
The following illustrations show poor methods of strain relief.

The wires at the base of the sensor have been pulled too tightly. This will allow moisture to penetrate the seal. The moisture will also deteriorate the sensor.

The extra length from the bundle has not been tied down at the harness clip. Illustration 3 shows the proper restraint of the harness.
