Controls Cabinet - Right View (1) Customer Interface Tray (2) Clear Shield over Rear Panel (3) AC Filter Capacitors (4) Filter Inductors (5) Fans (7) Right Panel (8) Parallel Service Switch (Parallel Systems Only) (9) Right Fan Tray (10) Front Plenum Gusset (11) Right Fan Plenum (12) Left Fan Plenum over K3 and K4 Inverter Contactors (13) Left Fan TrayParallel systems contain a Parallel Service Switch (8) in the Controls Cabinet that controls whether the MMU is able to go on-line or not. There are two modes "Normal" and "Service".
Illustration 2 g01280043
When the control is set to "Service" the MMU will start up and go on-line normally from the off-line state, either automatically or manually, depending on the setup of the MMU.If the control is set to "Normal", the MMU will not start up and go online from an offline state.Beginning in the 2.3 firmware release, the switch is set to "Service" when testing of the MMU is being performed and the service person does not want the MMU to join the array and autostart.Neither position affects the MMU when the MMU is already online. This switch is not present in UPS/SMS systems.Removal
Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Controls Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.

Parallel Service Switch Wire Connections
Electrostatic discharge can damage integrated circuits or semiconductors if you touch bus connector pins. When not in use, keep the module in the static-shield bag. Follow these guidelines when you handle any module:Touch a grounded object to discharge static potential.Wear an approved wrist-strap grounding device.Do not touch the bus connector or connector pins.Do not touch circuit components inside the module. If available, use a static-safe work station.
If replacing the wire harness, Disconnect all wires from the back of the switch. The connectors locations in the unit are labeled. Verify each connector to make sure that the label is present and legible.
Pull up on the white lock bar in order to unlock the wire harness.
Remove the rear wire harness.
