Use Tooling (A) in order to block the tires and prevent the machine from rolling.

Remove bolts (1) and cover (2). Remove cover (3).

Position the parking brake handle into the released position. Remove the cotter pin and pin assembly (4). Remove bolts (5) and the parking brake handle assembly.

Disconnect pin (6) and cable assembly from parking brake lever assembly.

Loosen jamb nut (8). Remove bolts (7) and parking brake assembly (9). Remove jamb nuts (8).
Remove the parking brake cable through the floor plate in the cab.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove spring (10) and brake pads (11). Installation Procedure
Install parking brake assembly (9) in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten inner nut (12) to a torque of 13 N m (115 lb in) for field adjustment. Back off inner nut (12) four to six flats. Tighten outer nut (13) against inner nut (12) to a torque of 68 N m (50 lb ft).
Orient lever (14) to dimension (Z). Dimension (Z) is 45 degrees.

Adjust mounting bolt and jam nut (8) to attain Dimension (X) between jamb nut (8) and bushing (15). Dimension (X) should be approximately 1.00 0.5 mm (0.040 0.020 inch). Apply Tooling (B) to jamb nut (8).
After Dimension (X) is attained, tighten jamb nut (8) against the mounting surface to a torque of 108 N m (80 lb ft).
