Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Note: Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal components.Note: For easier assembly, mark all hose assemblies, tube assemblies, wire harnesses and cables for identification purposes.
Release the parking brake manually. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Parking Brake Manual Release".

Disconnect two hose assemblies (1) .

Remove two bolts (2) and the washers in order to remove cylinder (3) .
Repeat Step 3 for the remaining cylinder.
Remove bolt (4), the retainer, and the O-ring seal.

Remove purge screw (5) from cylinder (3) .
Remove piston (7) from cylinder (3) .
Remove two seal assemblies (6) from piston (7) .
Repeat Step 6 through Step 8 for the remaining cylinder.

Remove four bolts (8) and the washers in order to position guard assembly (10) for the removal of the parking brake.
Remove two bolts (9) and the washers.

Install Tooling (A) .Note: Tooling (A) must be modified in order to be used as a guide bolt. Position Tooling (A) in a suitable vise. Remove the head of the bolt in order to use Tooling (A) as a guide bolt.
Remove two bolts (11) and the washers.

Position a suitable lifting sling around end plate (13). Attach the suitable lifting sling to a hoist. Remove end plate (13) and four rods (12). The weight of the end plate is 60 kg (130 lb).
Remove four rods (12) from the end plate.

Remove four friction discs (14) and three separator plates (15) .

Remove four reaction pins (16) .
Release the parking brake manually. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Parking Brake Manual Release".

Position a suitable lifting sling around pressure plate (17). Attach the suitable lifting sling to a hoist. Remove pressure plate (17) and 19 springs (18). The weight of the pressure plate is 25 kg (55 lb).

Install Tool (B) to yoke (19). Position a suitable lifting device on Tool (B). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist. Remove the yoke. The weight of the yoke is 36 kg (80 lb).

Position a suitable lifting sling around brake anchor (20). Attach the suitable lifting sling to a hoist. Remove brake anchor (20). The weight of the brake anchor is 50 kg (110 lb).
