(U) 10.0 mm (.39 in) fillet weld all around.--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: Steering cylinders with larger diameter spherical bearings are being installed to increase the service life of the cylinder retaining pins and bearings. Adaptable To: The new 109-6705 Cylinder Groups are effective with CS-531 (3WM34), CS-533 (3BL139), CP-533 (3ZL30), CS-563 (8XF1052), CP-563 (1YJ444), and CS-583 (8YJ141). The new cylinder groups can be adapted to earlier machines by performing the modifications in the following procedure. Procedure To Adapt New Steering Cylinders
1. Clean the machine to remove dirt and grease.2. Raise the operator's platform.3. Drain the hydraulic tank.4. Remove the access panels on the side of the frame.5. Disconnect and plug all hoses to the vibratory cooling valve.6. Remove the vibratory cooling valve.7. If the brake/shift valve is positioned under the operator's platform on the front, right side, disconnect and plug all hoses leading to it. On later machines, the brake/shift valve was moved to the front of the hydraulic tank. It will not be necessary to disconnect the hoses on these machines for this procedure.

Remove existing steering cylinders (A). Plug the hydraulic hoses leading to the cylinders.9. Drain and remove the fuel tank.10. Remove existing, steering pivot ears (F).11. Weld plates (13) into position on steering pivot frame (C) as shown in Illustration 2.

Use a cutting torch or other suitable tool to remove the shaded areas of frame plate (E) as shown in Illustration 3. This will provide clearance for the larger, steering pivot ears.
