HOSE AS 3798839 - Caterpillar

Note: Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal components.Note: For easier assembly, mark all hose assemblies, tube assemblies, wire harnesses and cables for identification purposes.

The view is on the right side of the engine end frame under the left side of the engine.
Drain the cooling system. Loosen drain plug (1) in order to drain the cooling system.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the appropriate procedure to drain the cooling system. The capacity of the cooling system is 500 L (132 US gal).

Disconnect tube assembly (2) from the inlet of air compressor (3) .

Disconnect hose assembly (4), hose assembly (5), and hose assembly (6) .

Disconnect hose assembly (7) .
Remove tube assembly (8) .

Disconnect hose assembly (9) and hose assembly (10) .

Position a suitable lifting device around air compressor (3). Remove three bolts (11) and the washers in order to remove air compressor (3). Remove the air compressor. The weight of the air compressor is 32 kg (70 lb).Installation Procedure
Note: Verify that all of the components of the air compressor are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Position a suitable lifting device around air compressor (3). Position air compressor (3) for installation. Install three bolts (11) and the washers. The weight of the air compressor is 32 kg (70 lb).

Connect hose assembly (9) and hose assembly (10) .

Install tube assembly (8) .
Connect hose assembly (7) .

Connect hose assembly (4), hose assembly (5), and hose assembly (6) .

Connect tube assembly (2) onto the inlet of air compressor (3) .

Tighten drain plug (1). Fill the cooling system.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the appropriate procedure to fill the cooling system.End By:
Charge the air system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air System Pressure - Purge/Charge".
Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Frame Lock Link - Separate and Connect".
Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
