Remove the spring from the water pump seal assembly.
Put clean water or P-80 lubricant in order to aid the water pump seal assembly. Use the installation tool and hand pressure to install the rubber seal and the ceramic ring as a unit in the housing bore. Be certain that the shiny face of the ceramic ring is installed toward the water pump seal assembly.
Use the seal installation tool and hand pressure to install the water pump seal assembly on the shaft until the faces of the seals make light contact with each other. Note: The seal installation tool is part of the replacement water pump seal assembly.
