Make sure that the damper adapter is properly aligned with the crankshaft during assembly.

Position stub shaft (12) to the engine.

Install four bolts (13) and the washers that secure stub shaft (12) and damper adapter (14) to the crankshaft. Remove Tool (A) from the engine.

Install the two remaining bolts (13) that secure stub shaft (12) and damper adapter (14) to the crankshaft.

Install bushing (8) and key (11) to stub shaft (12). Install the set screw that secures key (11) to stub shaft (12) .

Tool (C) must be modified in order to be used as guide bolts. Position Tool (C) in a suitable vise. Remove the heads of Tool (C) in order to use Tool (C) as guide bolts. Install Tool (C) to the damper adapter, as shown.
Attach a suitable lifting sling to damper (10). Attach a suitable hoist to the lifting sling. Position damper (10) to the engine. The weight of the damper is 54 kg (120 lb). Remove the tooling from the damper.

Install eight bolts (9) and the washers that secure damper (10) to the damper adapter. Remove Tool (C) from the damper adapter.

Install two remaining bolts (9) that secure damper (10) to the damper adapter.

Place a suitable lifting sling around crankshaft pulley (7). Attach a suitable hoist to the lifting sling. Position crankshaft pulley (7) to bushing (8). The weight of the crankshaft pulley is 41 kg (90 lb).
Install three bolts (6) and the washers that secure crankshaft pulley (7) to bushing (8). Remove the tooling from the crankshaft pulley.

Ensure that the measured difference (X) between the leading edge of crankshaft pulley (7) and fan drive pulley (Y) is 1.6 3.0 mm (.063 .118 inch).
Position a straight edge across the leading edge of crankshaft pulley (7). The straight edge should extend across the face of fan drive pulley (Y). Use Tool (D) to measure the difference (X) .

If necessary, remove three bolts (6) and the washers that secure crankshaft pulley (7) to bushing (8). Remove crankshaft pulley (7) from bushing (8). Loosen the set screw (not shown). Reposition bushing (8) on the stub shaft.
Tighten the set screw (not shown). Position crankshaft pulley (7) to bushing (8). Install three bolts (6) and the washers that secure crankshaft pulley (7) to bushing (8) .
Repeat Steps 13, 14, 15, and 16 until the correct measured difference of 1.6 3.0 mm (.063 .118 inch) has been achieved.

Position V-belt (5) to idler pulley (4) and the crankshaft pulley. Rotate idler pulley (4) in order to tighten V-belt (5). Tighten bolt (3) that secures idler pulley (4) to the mounting bracket.
Use Tool (E) (not shown) to measure the belt tension. Refer to Specifications, "Belt Tension Chart" for the correct belt tension.

Position bracket (2) to the engine. Install four bolts (1) and the washers that secure bracket (2) to the engine.End By: Install the belt tightener. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Belt Tightener - Install".
