See the replacement for the article that follows.Description of Change: A 180-3829 Control Cable Assembly is now available. The new Control Cable Assembly from the machine to the screed uses wire that is braided. The old cable used 36 wire SO cable. The new Control Cable Assembly has straight strain relief connectors on both ends. The changes were made in order to improve the cable.Adaptable To: This change was effective with serial numbers for the screeds of (S/N: 3LM00308-UP; 7NR01504-UP; 7MR02156-UP; 2JN02087-UP). Screeds with serial numbers of (S/N: 3LM1-00307; 7NR1-01503; 7MR1-02155; 2JN1-02086) can be updated by performing the following tasks: removing the previous control harness, installing the 180-3829 Control Cable Assembly and clamping the harness. Refer to the Service Magazine, SEPD0553, 04 December 2000, "Improved Routing for the Right Hand Control Harness" in order to update the machines.
