The current paper version of Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, RENR5908-03 is correct and available.The illustrations on page 77 of Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, RENR5908-01, "Procedure for Engine Timing" are incorrect. Illustration 92 is for In-line engines and illustration 93 is for Vee engines. These illustrations show the installation of the speed-timing wheel on G3600 engines. The text is correct, but the illustrations are in the wrong position within the article. It is important to note that the cam rotates in a counterclockwise direction on G3600 In-line engines. The cam rotates in a clockwise direction on G3600 Vee engines. The speed-timing sensor should always be aligned with the tooth that follows the extra tooth when the camshaft pin has been installed.
