HOSE 3W6048 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the battery and battery frame. Turn drain valve cover (1) and remove the drain valve cover from the bottom of the fuel tank group. Open the valve and drain the fuel from the fuel tank group. 2. Remove the center floor plate and left floor plate (5).3. Remove handle (2). Remove four screws (3) and remove plate (4). Remove guard assembly (6). 4. Remove knob (8) from the lever. Remove bolts (7) that hold cover assembly (9) in place. Remove cover assembly (9). 5. Disconnect governor linkage (11) from lever (10) and bracket (12). Disconnect wire harness (13) from the horn switch. 6. Disconnect fuel line (14). 7. Disconnect transmission control linkage (16) from shaft assembly (15). 8. Disconnect oil lines (17), (18), (19) and (20). 9. Remove handle (21). Install 5P9736 Link Bracket or a 1/2" - 13 NC forged eyebolt in the threaded hole from which bolt (22) was removed. 10. Install a 6V2156 Link Bracket or a 3/8" - 16 NC forged eyebolt (24) as shown and fasten a hoist to the fuel tank group. 11. Remove bolts (25) that hold support bracket (23) of the fuel tank group to plate assembly (26). 12. Remove bolts (27) on the bottom left side of the fuel tank group, just above the left track that holds the fuel tank group to the frame. 13. Remove fuel tank group (28). The weight is 119 Kg (265 lb.).14. If the transmission and governor control linkages are to be removed, see Specifications and the Testing and Adjusting Manuals. The following steps are for installation of the fuel tank group.15. Connect the transmission and governor control linkages. See the Testing and Adjusting and the Specifications Manuals for correct adjustments.16. Install 5P9736 Link Brackets or a 1/2" - 13 NC forged eyebolt, and a 6V2156 Link Bracket or a 3/8" - 16 NC forged eyebolt in the hydraulic tank group and fasten a hoist. Put fuel tank group (28) in position on the machine.17. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the threads of bolts (27). Install bolts (27) on the bottom left side of the fuel tank group. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 205 27 N m (150 20 lb.ft.). 18. Install two bolts (25) that hold support bracket (23) of the fuel tank group to plate assembly (26). 19. Connect oil lines (17), (18), (19) and (20). 20. Connect fuel line (14). 21. Connect governor linkage (11) to lever (10) and bracket (12). Connect wire harness (13) to the horn switch. 22. Connect transmission control linkage (16) to shaft assembly (15). 23. Install cover assembly (9). Install knob (8) on the lever. 24. Put plate (4) in position and install the four screws (3) that hold it in place. Install handle (2). Put guard assembly (6) in position on the fuel tank and install the bolts that hold it in place.25. Install left floor plate (5) and the center floor plate.26. Shut off fuel drain valve
