Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Drain the coolant from the engine to a level that is below the water pump. Use a suitable container for storage or disposal of the coolant.

Loosen three clamps (1) and remove the hoses.
Loosen clamp (3) and remove the hose from water pump (2) .

Remove two bolts (5), elbow (4), and tube assembly (6) .
Remove the O-ring seals at both ends of tube (6) .

Remove two bolts (7), flange (9), the seal, and the gasket.
Remove two bolts (10), elbow (8), and the gasket.

Remove four nuts (11) and one bolt (12) .
Remove water pump (2), the seal, and the gasket.
