Typical Example
Use cribbing to support output transfer gears (2), as shown.
Install Tooling (B) on the transmission. Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B) .

Install O-ring seals (7) and (8) on the transmission. Apply clean oil on O-ring seals (7) and (8) .

Install guide rods in the output transfer gear housing.

Typical Example
Use a hoist to connect the transmission to the output transfer gears. Make sure that O-ring seals (7) and (8) are not damaged during the connection. The weight of the transmission is 635 kg (1400 lb).
Remove the guide rods. Install twenty bolts (5) and the washers on the transmission and the output transfer gears. Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).

Install Tooling (B) to the transmission and the transfer gears, as shown. Attach a hoist and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (B) .
Use a hoist to raise the transmission and the output transfer gears. The weight of the transmission and the transfer gears as a unit is 1160 kg (2560 lb).

Use Tooling (A) and wood blocks to support transmission (1) and output transfer gears (2) .
Remove eight bolts (3) which hold support bracket (4) in place. Remove support bracket (4). Repeat this step for the other support bracket.End By: Install the torque converter on the transmission and the output transfer gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter to Transmission, Output Transfer Gears - Connect".
