The lowering control valve for the VA boom and the standard boom are factory set for the precise pilot pressure. It is VERY IMPORTANT that the lowering control valves for the VA boom and the standard boom ARE NOT ADJUSTED. Any adjustments will cause incorrect operation of the valve.The stroke of the spool piece in the stick lowering control valve can be limited by adjusting screw (1) in order to slow the stick motion when retracting the stick.
If the stick is observed to have stick flop, the stick lowering control valve needs to be adjusted.
Location of adjusting screw (1) for stick lowering control valve.Procedure To Adjust Stick Flop
1. Loosen the locknut on adjusting screw (1) for the stick lowering valve.2. Operate the implement and fully extend the stick out.3. Retract the stick fully and observe the operation of the stick.4. If the stick retracts and stops at the vertical position, the stick lowering control valve needs to be adjusted.5. If the stick lowering control valve needs to be adjusted, tighten the adjusting screw 1/3 of a turn and repeat Steps 2 through 4 to check the stick operation.6. When complete tighten the locknut on adjusting screw (1).
