Transmission Direction Selection and Gear Selection
Illustration 1 g01056420When the machine is started, the machine is in the manual mode. Gear selection is manual. The status indicator on the instrument panel for the active autoshift is not illuminated. If you depress switch (2) or switch (3), you make the gear selection in the NEUTRAL position. When the transmission direction selector is engaged, uncertain movements or harsh machine movements may occur. Use caution.Transmission Direction Selector - Rotate control (1) in order to change the direction of the machine.
Forward - Rotate the top of control (1) forward in order to move the machine forward.
Reverse - Rotate the bottom of control (1) rearward in order to move the machine backward.
Neutral - Align the marks on control (1) in order to select NEUTRAL. When the transmission is in the Neutral position, the display for the transmission indicates "N". The transmission is disengaged in this position.Gear Selection - Depress switches (2) and (3) in order to change gears.
Upshift - Make transmission upshifts from first gear to second second gear to third gear by depressing upshift switch (2).
Downshift - Press the downshift switch (3) in order to downshift the transmission to second gear. Press the downshift switch again in order to downshift the transmission to first gear.Transmission Shifting (Automatic Modes)

Autoshift modes are displayed on the Advisor panel. The front instrument cluster displays an icon that indicates that autoshift mode is active. "Advisor" displays the specific mode.
Illustration 2 g01422492Autoshift mode can be selected with the switch (4). The push button is located on the right console. The status of autoshift operation is shown by the status indicator for the bidirectional shift function. When the machine is started, the machine is in the manual mode. No light is lighted. Press switch (4) for the autoshift function in order to select the auto shift mode: "1F-2R". Pressing the switch again will shut off the autoshift mode. The autoshift function includes the following mode:Bidirectional shift mode - The electronic transmission system is equipped with a bidirectional shift function that operates in the autoshift mode. The autoshift function allows the operator to preset a FORWARD or REVERSE gear for directional changes.
First gear forward to second reverse directional shift mode - Press switch (4) once for the autoshift function. A directional shift to the FORWARD position will always shift to first gear. A directional shift to the REVERSE position will always shift to second gear. This mode allows a direct shift from the FIRST GEAR FORWARD position to the SECOND GEAR REVERSE position. The top line of the "Advisor" panel displays the bidirectional shift mode ("1F-2R"). For the best results, change the option with the transmission in NEUTRAL. If the autoshift function is not desired, the machine can be operated in the manual mode.
