Remove drain plug (1) from the final drive. Drain the oil from the rear differential and final drives. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change" for the appropriate procedure.
The capacity of the rear differentials and final drives is 620 L (164 US gal).

Use a suitable rope or wire to secure yoke assembly (2) to front trunnion (3). Attach a suitable lifting sling around rear drive shaft (4). Position Tool (A) around the input drive shaft above rear drive shaft (4). Secure Tool (A) to the suitable lifting device.
Remove four bolts (5) and the washers that secure rear drive shaft (4) to yoke assembly (2). Discard four bolts (5).
Disconnect rear drive shaft (4) from yoke assembly (2). Use Tool (A) to lower rear drive shaft (4) to a rest position.

Disconnect two hose assemblies (6) and (7) from the top of front trunnion (3).

Disconnect two hose assemblies (8) and (9) from the top of rear trunnion (10).

Remove five bolts at the top of the oscillating axle housing. Discard the five bolts. DO NOT reuse the bolts. Attach Tooling (B) to the housing of oscillating axle (11).

Attach Tool (C) to Tooling (B).

Position a suitable lifting device to Tool (C). Secure the suitable lifting device to a hoist to lower oscillating axle (11).

Repeat Steps 8, 9, and 10 for the remaining side of oscillating axle (11).

Use Tooling (D) to remove eight bolts (12) that secure rear trunnion (10) to the engine end frame. Discard eight bolts (12). DO NOT reuse bolts.

Lower oscillating axle (11) to access the hose assemblies on the top of oscillating axle (11).

Disconnect four hose assemblies (16), (17), (18), and (19) from the block on the top of oscillating axle (11).
Lower oscillating axle (11) onto suitable dollies or skid pads. The weight of oscillating axle (11) is 16800 kg (37039 lb). Remove oscillating axle (11) from under the machine.
