Hydraulic tank and filters (1) Oil tank (2) Filter (3) Filter (4) Filler tube (5) Suction tube (6) Baffle assembly (7) Return tubeDuring normal operation of the implement and/or of steering circuits, return oil from the control valves flows to the oil cooler bypass valve. The bypass valve sends the oil in two directions back to the tank.A part of the return oil flows to the oil cooler. The return oil is cooled as the oil flows through the pump and motor cases. Oil through the pump and motor cases flows into the tank through filter (2) and then through return tube (7). The larger part of the return oil flows through the cooler bypass valve to the tank. Oil to the tank flows through filter (3) and through baffle assembly (6) .When the implement and steering circuits are not active, the only return oil is system leakage. This oil flows into the tank through filter (2) and through return tube (7) .If the filter elements of the filters are clogged with debris, the restriction to the oil flow causes a pressure increase inside the filters. This pressure increase causes a bypass valve in each filter to move so that oil can flow through return tube (7) and through baffle assembly (6) into the tank. When the oil does not flow through the filter elements, the debris in the oil causes damage to the components in the hydraulic system.
