A new Power train Control Processor (PCP) flash file is now available on the engines that are listed above. The new flash file supports the following features:
Allows users to operate a "two-throttle control" station to command a three engine installation. One additional PCP, Marine Junction Box (MJB), and connecting cables are required.
Allows users to reset the maximum engine speeds in the PCP.
Adds the Wide Open Throttle (WOT) synchronization function. Adding WOT allows users to synchronize both engine rpm when throttles are at WOT.
Allows the user to synchronize the engine speed with the control stations throttle handles. When two throttle handles signals are within 14% of each other for 2 seconds, the two engines will synchronize speed. Independent engine speed control will return when the throttle signals are greater than 14%.
Allows the current calibration parameters stored in the PCP to be saved automatically when new software is installed on the PCP.
Changes the functionality of "Panic Mode". "Panic Mode" will now command the gear to neutral after 2 seconds.
Changes to functionality of the "Auto Sync Exit" parameter. "Auto Sync Exit" will now always be active. The user will no longer be able to set the "Auto Sync Exit" parameter to disabled with Cat ET.
Adds additional Cat ET diagnostic information to be displayed from the PCP.
Cat ET will now display the number of fault occurrences, the time in engine hours of the first, and last occurrence from the PCP.
Cat ET will now display the Electronic Troll Processor (ETP) voltages separately for the port and starboard data links. This voltage can be used to troubleshoot the ETP data link communication status.
Changes the following default calibration parameters
Transmission Pressure Neutral Limit = 0 kPa
Wheel Drag Down Hold Min Engine Speed = 750 rpm
Wheel Drag Down Exit Speed = 775 rpm
Adds an operational qualifier during gear change when operating with two throttle controls in synchronization. When the handles are synchronized and the master throttle handle changes gear, the non-master engine will go to idle and the "Sync Lamp" will blink. The PCP will wait 10 seconds for the non-master throttle handle to be qualified. If the non-master throttle handle is not qualified in time, the "Throttle Not Qualified" alarm will be activated.The new 391-6700 Power Train Software Gp is a direct replacement for the old 387-7708 Power Train Software Gp .The 391-6700 Power Train Software Gp is adaptable back to first production of 219-8020 Power Train Control Gp and 311-8400 Power Train Control Gp on the engines listed above.
