Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propulsion lever (2) to the NEUTRAL position.
Rotate speed dial (3) to the MINIMUM position.
Move parking brake switch (4) to the ON position.
Move screed lower switch (6) to the DOWN position. Lower the screed to the ground.
Move throttle control switch (5) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
Move engine start switch (1) to the OFF position after the engine reaches low idle.

Move key switch (7) to the OFF position.
Assemble the tooling. Install Tool (E) on Tool (C). Use the appropriate O-ring seals that are Tool (D) and Tool (F) .

Open the left front deck cover. Remove the plug from the hose in the left front pump compartment.
Install Tool (C) in the end of the hose. Use the plug which was removed from the hose in order to plug the open port on Tool (C) .
Install Tool (K) on Tool (E). Use Tool (J) in order to connect Tool (K) to Tool (H) .
Open the right engine compartment cover.

Unplug connector (9) to the fan solenoid.
Open the access door on the front, right side of the machine.

Install a strip of reflective tape Tool (B) on hub (10) of the cooling fan.Note: Alternatively, the reflective tape may be installed on a fan blade, close to the hub.
Move key switch (7) to the ON position. Move engine start switch (1) to the START position. Release the engine start switch after the engine starts.
Move throttle control switch (5) to the HIGH IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second. The engine speed should increase to 2310 rpm.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (G). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 5.6°C (110 10°F).
Use Tool (A) to measure fan speed. Fan speed should be 1950 50 RPM.
If the fan speed is within the specified range, go to Step 25. If the fan speed is outside the specified range, go to Step 22.
Stop the engine.

Loosen locknut (11). In order to increase pressure, rotate adjustment screw (12) clockwise. In order to decrease pressure, rotate the adjustment screw counterclockwise.Note: When the pressure is increased, fan speed increases. When the pressure is decreased, fan speed decreases.
Hold adjustment screw (12) in place. Tighten locknut (11). Go back to Step 17 in order to recheck the fan speed.
Read the pressure on Tool (H). The pressure should be approximately 13300 kPa (1930 psi).Note: The maximum allowable fan pressure is 15500 kPa (2250 psi).
Stop the engine. If the pressure is outside the specified range, go to Step 27. If the pressure is within the specified range, go to Step 28.
Troubleshoot the fan pump and/or the motor if any of the measurements are not within specifications. Repair any problems. Go back to Step 17 in order to recheck fan speed.
Remove the tooling.
Reconnect connector (9) to the fan solenoid.
Close the engine compartment cover. Close the access door.
