Information:

start by:a) remove steering clutch hubs 1. Bend all of the locks (3) straight.2. Put a wood block under the bevel gear. The wood block is used as a support and a stop for the bevel gear when nuts (4) are loosened. Make sure the bevel gear does not turn.3. Remove the two bolts (1) and lock.4. Remove oil tube (2).5. Loosen nuts (4) that hold the bevel gear to the bevel gear shaft. 6. Remove the bolts that hold cage (6) to the bevel gear case.7. Install two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws in the cage. Tighten the screws evenly until the cage is loose. Remove the cage and shims (5) from the bevel gear shaft. Put identification on the shims for correct installation.8. Remove the bolts, locks and nuts (4) that hold the bevel gear to the bevel gear shaft. Remove the bevel gear and shaft from the bevel gear case.9. Remove the other cage from the bevel gear case as in Steps 6 and 7. 10. Remove the bearing cups from the cages with tooling (A). 11. Remove the two bearings from the bevel gear shaft with tooling (B).Install Bevel Gear And Shaft (Power Shift)
1. Lower the temperature of the bearing cups. Install the bearing cups in the cages until they make contact with the bottom of the counterbores in the cages. 2. Heat two bearings (1) to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install the two bearings on the bevel gear shaft as shown. 3. Fasten a hoist to bevel gear shaft (2) and lower it into the steering clutch case.4. Install the original thickness of shims and the cage in the left side of the bevel gear case. Install the bolts that hold the cage in position.5. Put the bevel gear in the bevel gear case. Push the bevel gear shaft through the bevel gear and into the cage. Install the bolts, locks and nuts that hold the bevel gear to the bevel gear shaft. Do not tighten the nuts. 6. Install cage (3) and the original thickness of shims in the right side of the bevel gear case. Install bolts (4) that hold cage in position. If the original thickness of shims is not known, see BEVEL GEAR AND PINION SHAFT SETTINGS (POWER SHIFT). 7. Put a wood block under the bevel gear. The wood block is used as a support and a stop for the bevel gear when nuts (7) are tightened. Make sure the bevel gear does not turn. Tighten nuts (7).8. Bend the locks over the nuts.9. Install oil tube (6).10. Install two bolts (5) and lock.end by:a) install steering clutch hubs
