HOSE AS 4579835 - Caterpillar

Failure to properly fill the transmission tank after an oil change may cause damage to the transmission clutches. Follow the procedure that is described above.The transmission direction and speed control MUST be left in NEUTRAL until the system is full.

( 1 ) Optional - use a 1 1/2 inch NPTF pipe in order to open the drain valve
( 2 ) The required length of the hose will be determined by the application.Note: Operate the transmission until the torque converter and transmission oil is warm.

Remove breather cap (2) in order to prevent a vacuum while the oil is draining from the transmission case.

Right side view (3) Ecology drain plug
Remove ecology drain plug (3) from the bottom of the transmission.
Install tool (A) into the ecology drain and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
After the oil has drained from the transmission case, clean ecology drain plug (3).
Remove tool (A) .
Install ecology drain plug (3) and tighten to 100 20 N m (74 15 lb ft).
Fill the transmission case with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
Ensure that the transmission is in the NEUTRAL position. Crank
