Purge Down the Pilot Oil System Mechanically
After the engine has been stopped for a short time, the control levers will not lower the implements to the ground.There is a mechanical method that can be used to lower the attachments.

There is an access cover for the dozer/ripper valves behind the molding inside the operator module. Remove the molding.

Remove the access cover. A 164-0758 Bolt is stored inside the access cover. This bolt may be used to lower the implements.Install the fittings, access cover, and the molding. Lowering the Dozer Blade
Remove the access cover. A bolt 164-0758 Bolt (9/16 inch by 18 by 2 inch) is stored inside the access cover. This bolt may be used to lower the implements.

Remove the pilot line connection at the location for high-pressure dozer lower (1) .
Thread the bolt into the end of the valve in order to shift the spool manually to the LOWER position.
Install the pilot line connection, fittings, access cover, and the molding.Lowering the Ripper
Remove the access cover. A bolt 164-0758 Bolt (9/16 inch by 18 by 2 inch) is stored inside the access cover. This bolt may be used to lower the implements.

Remove the seat by removing bolt (2) . Slide seat (1) forward and remove the seat. The weight of the seat is approximately 30 kg (65 lb).

Disconnect electrical connector (3) . Remove bolts (5) and remove lower half of seat (4) . The weight of the lower half of the seat is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

Remove right armrest (6) .

Remove bolts (9) and access cover (10) .

Remove the pilot line connection at the location for high-pressure ripper lower (11) , if needed.
Thread the bolt into the end of the valve in order to shift the spool manually to the LOWER position.
Make any necessary repairs before you operate the machine.Note: Consult your Cat dealer for more information on checking the hydraulic circuit for the ripper.
Install the pilot line connection, fittings, access covers, molding (8) , and bracket (7) .

Install armrest (6) .

Install lower half of seat (4) and install bolts (5) . Connect electrical connector (3) .

Slide seat (1) rearward into the adjusting mechanism. Install bolt (2) .
