Information:

Loading
1. Reduce speed and downshift to first gear when approaching cut. 2. With ejector to the rear and floor closed, start the elevator. 3. Lower bowl until cutting edge is at proper cutting depth. Shallow cut for hard loading material, deeper for easier loading material. Avoid stalling engine or elevator, decrease depth of cut or downshift if necessary. 4. Raise bowl slightly to carry height when full. Stop elevator as soon as cutting edge is out of ground.Straddle Loading
Leave a ridge about 5 to 6 feet (1,5 to 1,8 m) wide the entire width of the cut. On succeeding passes pick up the ridges at a depth below previous cuts. This will leave ridges, thus repeating the cycle. Repeat cycle until finish depth is reached.Load on level or slight uphill grade. Downhill loading results in material in bowl being forced against elevator, causing carryover of material being loaded.Large Objects
Open scraper floor and maneuver over object. Lower scraper and close door while elevator is running. To unload, lower scraper and open floor. Run elevator in reverse, if necessary, to help unloading.Hauling
1. Carry load low as possible, providing clearance for obstructions. 2. Regulate travel speed to suit road conditions. 3. In poor footing, engage differential lock. Reduce speed to permit lock to engage if one wheel is spinning.
Disengage Differential Lock before turning. Turning with lock engaged can be hazardous.
4. Slow down before starting turns, but maintain at least 1000 engine RPM for normal steering speed.5. Slow down and shift to lower gear speed before starting down grade. Avoid overspeeding engine. 6. Use extreme care when turning on downgrade. 7. Downshift on upgrade to avoid lugging engine.
Watch for and obey flagmen in traveled areas.
Dumping and Spreading
1. Dump and spread material at highest practical travel speed, considering fill and traffic conditions. Approach fill in line with dump area. Lower bowl to desired spread height. 2. Pull ejector-floor lever at start of dump area. Pull lever to wide opening position if material is too heavy to unload through narrow opening. 3. Start elevator running in reverse if material tends to stick in scraper. 4. Keep machine moving and maintain high engine RPM while unloading. 5. When empty, raise bowl slowly to leave fill area smooth. Raise bowl just high enough to clear obstructions on return to cut. 6. Push ejector floor control lever to RETURN. Accelerate machine to highest speed practical for return to cut.
