Operation Description:Use this procedure if the fault indicator on the Status Control Module (SCM) will not reset.Test Step 1. Inspect Electrical Connectors and Wiring
Turn the main disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Thoroughly inspect all of the connectors that are associated with the circuit.Expected Result:All connectors, pins and sockets are completely coupled and/or inserted and the harness and wiring are free of corrosion, of abrasion and of pinch points.Results:
OK - The harness and connectors appear to be OK. Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK - There is a problem with the connectors and/or wiring.Repair: Repair the connectors or wiring and/or replace the connectors or wiring. Ensure that all of the seals are properly in place and ensure that the connectors are completely coupled.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem.STOPTest Step 2. Check the SCM
Turn the main disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the Engine Control Switch (ECS) to the OFF/RESET position.
If the fault indicator does not reset, connect a jumper wire between terminal 12 on the SCM and the −Battery.
Remove the jumper wire.Expected Result:The fault indicator resets.Results:
OK - The fault indicator resets. There is a problem with the ECS or there is a problem with the wiring.Repair: Troubleshoot the ECS and the wiring to the ECS.Repair the ECS or wiring and/or replace the ECS or wiring.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem.STOP
Not OK - The fault indicator does not reset. There is a problem with the SCM.Repair: Verify that the original fault condition no longer exists.If the fault condition no longer exists, replace the SCM.Verify that the repair eliminates the problem.STOP
