Information:
1. Remove bolts (1) that fasten the fuel injection lines to the aftercooler.2. Loosen fuel line nuts (3) from the injection pumps and nuts (4) from the valve base adapters. Use 5F2807 Caps and 2F2990 Plugs in all fuel line openings to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system.3. Remove fuel injection lines (2).Install Fuel Injection Lines
If new fuel lines are used for replacement, remove the identification tags from the lines. The tags can cause wear on the fuel injection lines.
1. Make sure the fuel injection lines are clean and dry.2. Put fuel injection lines (3) in position on the engine.3. Use tool (A) to tighten the fuel injection line nuts (5) to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.).4. Make sure the bolts (1) that hold the fuel line clamps and dampers together are tightened to a torque of 10 3 N m (7 2 lb.ft.). Adapter nuts (4) are tightened to a torque of 14 3 N m (10 2 lb.ft.).5. Install bolts (2) that fasten the fuel line assembly to the aftercooler.6. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.
