Position the torque converter, as shown. Install 36 bolts (23). For the correct torque, refer to Specifications, "Torque Converter and Retarder" for the power train.

Use Tool (D) in order to install snap ring (22). Position retainer (21). Install six bolts (20). For the correct torque, refer to Specifications, "Torque Converter and Retarder" for the power train.

Install gear (19).

Install two O-ring seals (18). Install retainer (17).

Install disc assembly (16).

Install O-rings (15). Install piston (14) to the housing assembly.

Install housing assembly (13). Install 16 bolts (12). For the correct torque, refer to Specifications, "Torque Converter and Retarder" for the power train.

Use a press and use Tooling (C) in order to install the bearing to gear (8).

Install shaft (11).

Use Tooling (B) in order to install snap ring (10) to each side of gear (8).

Position housing assembly (7), as shown.
Position gear (8). Install bolts (9).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to housing assembly (7).
Install housing assembly (7) onto the torque converter. The weight of housing assembly (7) is approximately 73 kg (160 lb).

Install race (6). Install eight bolts (5).

Install carrier (3).
Install ring (4) to carrier (3) on each side of retarder (2).

Install retarder (2). Install retaining ring (1). End By:
Connect the torque converter to the transmission. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter to Transmission - Connect".
