1. Check the actuator serial number located on the housing (refer to Image 1 below). If serial number IS NOT between 14898182 and 14957658 DO NOT replace the actuator.
2. If the serial number of the actuator is between 14898182 and 14957658, replace the actuator and gasket. Refer to SENR2365 for disassembly and assembly instructions.
3. Record the serial number of the replaced actuator in the service report. Also include the serial number of the replaced actuator in the claim story.
4. Send replaced actuator to address provided in the Parts Disposition.
IMPORTANT Verify that the serial number of the replacement actuator that is being installed IS NOT between 14898182 and 14957658.

The 7W6722 Governor Actuator may need to be replaced on the products listed below if the serial number is within the range of the service letter. The existing actuator can cause hard starting, failure to start, instability, and/or inability to accept load, which may result in personal injury or death. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 12May2008 when scheduling this service.
