This is a 4.0-hour job
If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.
An additional 16 hours, for a total of 20 hours, will be allowed if the rework procedure is performed based on inspection results. Please note the Claims Allowance Age/hours is in reference to the Age/Hours of the SCR, not of the prime product.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
The following part must be ordered directly from the manufacturer/supplier:

1) Disconnect the air supply and urea supply lines from the injector lance. Remove the injector lance and the gasket.

2) Remove the atomizing nozzle and gasket from the injector lance. The atomizing nozzle consists of nut, air cap and fluid cap.

3) Flush the injector lance with compressed air. If necessary, steam clean the injector lance to dissolve any hardened urea deposits.
4) Replace the atomizing nozzle and the gasket in the injector lance.
Use the Cap As Air Part# 333-2404 and Gasket Part# 291-1578.
Apply anti-seize compound Part# 4C-5599 to the male threads and to the contact faces. Torque the atomizing nozzle to 7.9 +/- 1.2 Nm. Torque the nut to 7.9 +/- 1.2 Nm.

5) Remove the injection duct (approx. 225 lb) with the aid of a pneumatic or hydraulic crane and the appropriate lifting device.

6) Install Gas Blender S Series Mixer (part # S24-C1S) upstream of the injector lance in the injection duct. The airflow sticker on the mixer must point in the same direction of the exhaust flow. Install the mixer 5-10 mm away of the duct flange face to leave clearance for the welding points. The mixer must not intrude the injector lance area.

7) Weld the mixer directly to the duct (weld length 50 mm, pitch 45?: 8 welds total). The mixer material is 304L stainless steel; refer to engineering specification 1E0099D(ER308L) - Welding Arc. Remove weld spatter with a stainless steel wire brush.

8) Install the injection duct with the Gas Blender S-Series Mixer upstream of the injector lance and mixing vanes with the aid of a pneumatic or hydraulic crane. The injector lance flange has to be located within 15 degrees - 45 degrees from the horizontal axis (Image1.8.1). Positioning the lance in this manner will prevent urea from dripping on the atomizing nozzle and causing plugging issues. The orientation of the injection duct must allow 775 mm (31 in.) clearance for the injector lance removal for service.

8) Install the injector lance. Use gasket Part# 309-7002. The atomizing nozzle must spray in the same direction as the exhaust flow. Torque the eight bolts to 460 +/- 60 Nm.
