Improvements to the Engine Compression Brake
The new engine software better controls the engine compression brake and rpm. With the former software, the engine brake operated to 950 RPM and the lockup torque converter disengaged at 1250 RPM. This could cause the machine to increase in ground speed.The new software controls the engine compression brake in order to slow the machine until engine speed is reduced to 1400 RPM and the engine brake disengages. The engine compression brake engages again at 1500 RPM. This disengage/engage strategy controls the engine speed between 1400 and 1500 RPM when the engine brake pedal is held down continuously in the appropriate gear for the grade. The lockup torque converter stays engaged and machine speed is controlled with minimal acceleration and deceleration.The engine brake pedal should be held down for correct operation. The engine compression brake will cycle on and off in order to control the engine RPM and the ground speed. The operator will no longer need to manually cycle the engine brake. Some use of the brakes may be required to make a complete stop at the bottom of the grade.Improvements to the Resume Feature of the Throttle Lock
The resume/accel switch can be used to resume the throttle setting after the operation of the engine compression brake is complete. The operator is no longer required to reset throttle lock after each application of the engine compression brake.Improvements to the Speed Setting of the Throttle Lock
The speed setting of the throttle lock matches the position of the throttle control instead of the engine RPM at that moment.
