Obey all state and local laws governing the weight, width and length of a load.Remove the starting aid (ether) cylinder, if equipped.Make sure the cooling system has proper antifreeze if moving machine to a colder climate.Observe all regulations governing wide loads.

Before you load the machine, block the trailer wheels or the rail car wheels, as shown.

Lower the dump body. When you transport a machine without a dump body, suitable retainers must be installed in order to support the hoist cylinders. Consult your Caterpillar dealer for more information.
When the machine is positioned on the transport machine, install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".
Move the transmission control to the N position.
Engage the parking brake.
Shut off the engine.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position and remove the key.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key.
Lock the cab door. Attach any vandalism protection.
Block the wheels. Secure the machine with tie-downs. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lifting and Tying Down The Machine".
Cover the exhaust opening or secure the rain cap in order to prevent the turbocharger from windmilling in transit. Perform a walk-around inspection and do fluid level checks.Travel at a moderate speed. Observe all speed limitations when you are roading the machine.

Remove the exhaust tube (1) from the exhaust stack. Store the exhaust tube in the cab.

Fold the mirrors (2) to the proper orientation toward the cab. Perform this step on both sides of the machine.

Loosen the retaining bolts on the antenna for product link (3) and allow the bracket to slide down the guard. Tighten the bolts after lowering the antenna.

Make sure that the mud flaps (4) are locked into the proper position. Perform this step on both sides of the machine. Consult your Cat dealer for shipping instructions for your machine.
