Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove oil filter (5). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
Disconnect hose assembly (3). Remove clip (7) and clip (8). Remove nuts (1) and bolts (6).
Remove oil filter base (4) and gasket (2).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove elbow (1) and O-ring seal (3) from engine oil filter base (6).
Remove plug (2) and the O-ring seal from engine oil filter base (6).
Remove spring (4) and valve (5) from engine oil filter base (6).
Remove plug (9) and the O-ring seal from engine oil filter base (6).
Remove spring (8) and valve (7) from engine oil filter base (6). Assembly Procedure

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Apply clean engine oil to O-ring seal (3). Install O-ring seal (3) on elbow (3). Install elbow (1) in engine oil filter base (6).
Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal. Install the O-ring seal on plug (2).
Apply clean engine oil to valve (5). Install valve (5), spring (4), and plug (2) in engine oil filter base (6).
Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal. Install the O-ring seal on plug (9).
Apply clean engine oil to valve (7). Install valve (7), spring (8), and plug (9) in engine oil filter base (6). Installation Procedure
Install oil filter base (4) and oil cooler (8) in the reverse order of removal.
