Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all harness assemblies, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the transmission oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission and Differential Oil - Change".

Disconnect hose assemblies (1), (2), and (3). Reposition bracket (4).

Disconnect tube assembly (5).

Attach a suitable lifting device to gear pump (7). The weight of gear pump (7) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Remove bolts (6) and remove gear pump (7).

Remove O-ring seals (8) and (9).
