Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury. Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Reduce engine speed when maneuvering in tight quarters or when braking over a rise.Select the gear range necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change gears while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same gear range going downgrade that would be used to go up the grade. 1. Make sure the steering frame lock pin is in the unlocked position.2. Adjust the operator's seat.3. Fasten the seat belt. 4. Release the parking/secondary brake knob by pulling up the parking/secondary brake knob. 5. Pull the governor control lever to high engine speed. 6. Select the desired speed. Low speed or high speed. 7. Move the direction control lever in the desired direction. 8. Rotate the speed control knob to the desired speed. Change speed when the machine is at a stop for more operator comfort. The selected speed is obtained when the direction control lever is at full forward or full reverse position. Drive the machine forward for best visibility and control.
For operator comfort and maximum service life of the power train components, gentle movements on the direction control lever are recommended.
