PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Perform all steps necessary to prepare the engine for safely replacing the fuel pressure regulator body.
1) Remove fuel pressure regulator from engine.
2) Remove plate, adjusting screw, and jam nut as one assembly.
3) Measure length of thread protrusion beyond plate.
4) Replace all O-rings.
5) Install new set screw into plate and adjust protrusion to measurement taken earlier.
6) Finish assembly and install on engine.
7) Replace all fuel filters and adjust fuel pressure regulator per Special Instruction, REHS7870, "Set up Procedure for the Low-Pressure Fuel System of 3600 and C280 Diesel Engines".
