Lift the screed to the highest point and engage the screed travel lock pins. Spray the screed with a releasing agent. Refer to Operation and maintenance Manual, "Screed - Clean" for more information on cleaning the screed.
Spray the tamper bar (4) with a releasing agent. Operate the tamper bar (4) for five minutes under no load. When you operate the tamper bar under no load, debris will be removed from the tamper bar.
Remove screws (1) and remove the front guard (5) .
Remove nuts (3) and remove the spring washers (2) .
Pull the tie rod (6) out of the seat.
Clean the space between the guard (6) and the tamper blade (4). Use compressed air in order to clean the area. Scrape excess debris from the area.
Reinstall the tie rod (6) .
Install the spring washers (2) and the nut (3) .
Install the front guard (5) and tighten down the screws (1) .
Check the clearance between the tamper bar and the guard. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tamper Blade - Check" for more information on checking the clearance.
After the tamper bar is clean, pump grease directly onto the tamper bar.
