Removal Procedure
Lower the screed onto a flat surface.
Disconnect the screed from the tractor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Screed - Remove and Install.
Remove the crown chain. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Chain (Crown) - Remove and Install.

Remove nut (1) and the washer from crown shaft assembly (2).

Remove the lock pin.
Remove pin assembly (3), the four washers, the shims, the two bearings, and crown shaft assembly (2). Note: Shim as required.

Remove two bearing cups (4).

Use a bearing puller or a suitable press to remove bearing (5). Remove bearing (5) from crown shaft assembly (2).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove retaining rings (9) in order to remove U-joint (8) from yoke (7) and spindle yoke (10). Installation Procedure
Install crown shaft assembly (2) in the reverse order of removal.
