Right Side of Operator Station
(16) Electronic control module (ECM) The machine ECM (16) is mounted on the right side of the operator station. The machine ECM (16) controls the propulsion system. The machine ECM receives input signals from components around the machine which monitor current machine operating conditions. System software compares the gathered input to information which is stored in the ECM memory. The software evaluates the current conditions and generates output signals to control the propulsion system within set parameters. The machine ECM uses open-loop logic in order to control machine propulsion and steering.

Machine ECM connector
The machine ECM (16) receives power from fuse "FU13" at terminal "41" and at terminal "42". This voltage input provides the power for the processor. The machine ECM is grounded at terminal "2" and at terminal "28".The machine ECM (16)) monitors the position of the E-stop switch at terminal "33". When the E-stop switch is in the RUN position, power transfers from fuse "FU14" to terminal "33". This voltage input provides a wake-up signal to the ECM.When the E-stop switch is in the RUN position, power is transferred from fuse "FU14" to terminal "1", terminal "13" and terminal "27" This power allows the machine ECM (16) to provide power output signals to various components on the machine. The speed dial potentiometer converts the position of the speed dial into a voltage that the machine ECM (16) can measure. The potentiometer receives a 5-volt signal from terminal "47" of the machine ECM. The potentiometer is grounded at terminal "45" of the machine ECM. The speed dial controls the wiper of the potentiometer. When the speed dial is moved, the wiper of the potentiometer moves, and the voltage at terminal "46" changes correspondingly. The machine ECM reads this voltage and converts the signal to a speed dial position in order to control machine propulsion speed. The steering potentiometer converts the position of the steering wheel into a voltage that the machine ECM (16) can measure. The potentiometer receives a 5-volt signal from terminal "36" of the machine ECM. The potentiometer is grounded at terminal "34" of the machine ECM. The steering wheel controls the wiper of the potentiometer. When the steering wheel is moved, the wiper of the potentiometer moves, and the voltage at terminal "35" changes correspondingly. The machine ECM reads this voltage and converts the signal to a steering wheel position in order to control machine steering. The machine ECM (16) monitors the position of the steering potentiometer at terminal "35". When the machine ECM determines that the steering wheel is in the center position, the ECM transmits a signal from terminal "29". This signal illuminates the straight travel indicator in order to inform the operator that the machine steering is aligned to track straight. If the machine ECM detects an error in the steering potentiometer circuit, the ECM will flash the straight travel indicator in order to inform the operator of the error. The operator platform switch is a mechanical switch that actuates when sufficient
