Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
E-Series Hydraulic Excavators can be configured with power mode settings in "Economy" (Eco), "Standard", and "High Power" (HP+) mode configurations. In some instances, machines are not configured correctly in the power mode setting. The problem is identified below, along with proper way to maintain power mode settings. The power mode settings can be disabled in circumstances that do not require certain power modes. An E-Series Hydraulic Excavator cannot be set to a power mode using Caterpillar Electronic Technician. The software for Caterpillar Electronic Technician will not allow the power mode setting to stay configured in the machine. Until a solution is provided to improve the software for Electronic Technician, use the monitor to maintain and set power mode settings. The power mode settings can be configured in the monitor under the "Power Mode Setting" menu.In addition to other issues related to this problem, customers have had concerns with low power for E series machines. Upon investigation, the machines were configured in the "Economy" and "Standard" mode or the operator unintentionally put the machine in a lower power mode by pressing the "Power Mode" switch located on the soft switch panel. In the circumstance that the customer only prefers the "High Power" (HP+) mode setting, the "Economy" (Eco) and "Standard" power modes can be disabled in the "Power Mode Setting" menu. Solution
