This program can only be implemented at the time a dealer is installing a new track link assembly or track group from their new parts stock inventory. For claiming purposes part age/hours on the new link assembly or track group being installed will apply. Enter a parts start date that is the same as the repair date and enter the part hours as 1 hour on the claim.
The 12.0 hours listed above is to REWORK one link assembly.
If the link assembly reworked is part of a track group, an additional 8.0 hours is allowed for track shoe removal and installation (20.0 hour job total).
Submit one claim for each link assembly or track group reworked from dealer parts stock. Each claim story must include track chain serial number, rework date, and total repair hours.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Rework Procedure:
1. Remove the plastic plugs and rubber stoppers from the track pins.
Note:
Do not push the stopper into the oil reservoir of the track pin.
2. Remove the oil from the oil reservoirs of the track pins.
3. Remove the track shoes from track groups. Track bolts and track nuts should be reused.
4. Disassemble the link assembly. Refer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin, SEBF8546, ?Shop Repair Procedure for Positive Pin Retention Track? for proper disassembly practices.
Note:
Do not damage the bushing ends. It is critical that the bushing faces are not scratched from metal to metal contact or sliding them on any surface.
5. Remove and discard the 235-2213 Thrust Ring.
Note:
Do not reuse the 235-2213 Thrust Ring in any other link assembly rebuilds.
6. If the link assembly serial number falls between PH001-Up or PJ001-Up, replace all seal assemblies. If the link assembly serial number falls between PK001-Up, only replace the seal assembly if there is visible damage. Wipe the counterbore of the track link when replacing the seal assembly. Use the 4C8622 Seal Installer to install the 222-7001 Seal Assembly.
7. All other components should be reusable. Refer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin, SEBF8558, "Guideline for Reusable Track Parts."
8. Wash the track pins and track bushings in preparation for assembly.
9. Apply the 239-3692 Facing Ring to both faces of the 352-9703 Thrust Ring. Recommended practice is to rinse the 352-9703 Thrust Ring with clean Stanisol and air dry. This will allow the poly-facing to adhere to the thrust ring.
10. Clean the bushing bore and pin bore on the track link. Wipe both ends of the track bushings, track pins, and seal faces during assembly. Refer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin, SEBF8546, ?Shop Repair Procedure for Positive Pin Retention Track? for proper assembly practices.
Note:
Do not exceed the recommended assembly force. Higher assembly forces will result in damaged track components and damaged tooling. The assembly forces may vary based on part conditions and dimensions. Refer to Undercarriage Reconditioning Bulletin, SEBF8566,
