Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Obtain the sample of the transmission oil as close as possible to the recommended sampling interval. The recommended sampling interval is every 250 service hours. In order to receive the full effect of S O S oil analysis, you must establish a consistent trend of data. You should establish a pertinent history of data. Perform consistent oil samplings that are evenly spaced.

The transmission oil filters are under the fuel tank on the rear of the machine.
Start the engine. Park the machine on level ground. Lower all implements to the ground.
Remove the protective cap.
You should obtain a sample. Use a 8T-9190 Fluid Sampling Bottle.
After you take a sample, remove the cap with the tube and the probe from the bottle. Discard the cap with the tube and the probe. Install the sealing cap. The sealing cap is provided with the 8T-9190 Fluid Sampling Bottle. Use the 8T-9190 Fluid Sampling Bottle in order to obtain a sample.
Replace the protective cap.
Stop the engine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the correct fluid for your machine.
