Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location.
Attach one set of tooling (A or B) to pressure tap (2) and one set of tooling (A or B) to pressure tap (5). Pressure tap (2) is for No. 2 Clutch (FORWARD). Pressure tap (5) is for No. 5 Clutch (FIRST SPEED).
Run the hydraulic hoses from tooling (A or B) into the cab.
Start the engine.
Warm the power train oil to a temperature of 84° 8°C (183° 14°F).
Operate the engine at LOW IDLE.
Engage the service brake.
Disengage the parking brake.
Place the transmission in the FIRST SPEED FORWARD position.
Check the pressure at tooling (A or B) for the No. 2 clutch. The pressure at tooling (A or B) for the No. 2 clutch should be 2620 105 kPa (380 15 psi) (main relief pressure).
Check the pressure at tooling (A or B) for the No. 5 clutch. The pressure at tooling (A or B) for the No. 5 clutch should be 2240 105 kPa (325 15 psi).
Use Table 3 in order to check all of the other combination of clutches. Copy Table 2 and record the pressure measurements in the table. Reference: See Specifications, Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Pressure Charts" in this module for additional pressure values.
