Removal Procedure
Install an appropriate lifting device to the upper jaw in order to secure the jaw open.

Typical example
Remove bolt (1) and remove ripper tooth (2) from the jaw.
Remove bolt (3) , the washer, and the nut that secures tooth (4) to the jaw. Remove the tooth from the jaw. Repeat this step for each tooth.Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.
Inspect the seats for the teeth. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Jaw - Repair".

Typical example
Place ripper tooth (2) into position on the upper jaw. Install the bolt that secures the tooth to the jaw.
Place tooth (4) into position on the jaw. Install bolt (3) , the washer, and the nut to the jaw. Ensure that the tooth is properly seated. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Jaw - Repair".
Repeat Step 4 for each tooth.
