Start By:a. remove rotary joint1. Remove the belly cover and the slide rails.2. Remove the cover from underneath the cab.
Typical Example3. Install tooling (A) and (B) under the excavator house. 4. Remove swing gear guards (1) and thirty-six bolts (2) holding the house to the undercarriage. 5. Drain the final drives on each side of the machine and remove both covers (3).
When the sun gear is removed, the brakes are inoperable. The undercarriage is free to move.
6. Use tool (C) and remove retaining ring (4) and sun gear (5).
Replace covers (3) to keep contaminants out of the final drives. Dirt entry may be indicated by high levels of silicon and/or aluminum in the final drive SOS sample reports. Dirt entry may cause shortened component life.
7. Raise the house with tooling (A) and (B). Attach a cable to tow bracket (6) on the undercarriage and remove the undercarriage. The following steps are for the installation of the undercarriage. 8. Position the undercarriage under the excavator house and install tooling (D).9. Lower the excavator house and install thirty-six bolts (2).10. Install sun gear (5) and retaining ring (4) in both final drives. Replace covers (3) and fill with oil.11. Install the cover underneath the cab and install the belly cover with the slide rails.End By:a. install rotary joint
