Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Install the O-ring seal on the rear of engine oil pump (7) (not shown).

If necessary, install new bushing (8).

Install engine oil pump (7) .
Install the washers and four bolts (6) in order to secure engine oil pump (7) onto the cylinder block.

Install engine oil pump drive gear (5) .
Install the washer and bolt (4) in order to secure engine oil pump drive gear (5). Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 33 5 N m (24 4 lb ft).
Install idler gear (3) .
Install thrust plate (2) onto idler gear (3) .
Install the washer and bolt (1) in order to secure idler gear (3). Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 34 5 N m (25 4 lb ft).Note: Before operation, the engine oil pump must be lubricated with clean engine oil and the engine oil pump must be able to turn freely by hand. End By: Install the front housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Housing (Front) - Install".
