Rework Procedure

Machine the bushing (1) to add chamfer on the inserting side of the bushing.
Chamfer the bushing to a maximum depth (A) of 0.30 mm (0.012 inch).

Machine the rod assembly (2) to add chamfer to the bore on the bushing inserting side.
Chamfer the rod assembly to a maximum depth (B) of 0.30 mm (0.012 inch).
Make sure that the machined surface of the bushing and the bore of the rod assembly are smooth and the edges are free of burrs.
Insert the bushing into the rod assembly. Use proper tool and a suitable press in order to insert the bushing into the rod assembly.Note: During installation align the oil holes in the bushing and connecting rod.

Trim the overhang portion of the bushing. Flush the bushing with the surface of the rod assembly.
After trimming maximum allowable height of the bushing from the surface of the rod assembly is (C) of 0.30 mm (0.012 inch).
