The transmission ECM sends output to the CAN A Data Link. The GEN III DIsplay and the transmission ECM communicate back and forth on the CAT Data Link.The GEN III DIsplay indicates the status of basic functions of the machine. The GEN III Display also includes the transmission system. The transmission ECM receives service commands from the GEN III DIsplay. The service commands can change the operating mode of the transmission electronic control system. The service commands can direct the transmission ECM to read service codes that are stored in the memory of the transmission ECM. The service commands can direct the transmission ECM to clear service codes that are stored in the memory of the transmission ECM.A Warning Category 1 alerts the operator that a machine function needs attention. In this category, only the alert indicators will flash.A Warning Category 2 alerts the operator that a change in the operation of the machine should occur as soon as possible. This will reduce the excessive temperatures in one or more of the machine systems. This helps prevent potential damage to the machine.A Warning Category 2 causes both action lamp (6) and the alert indicator to flash.Note: Do not operate the machine if the alert indicator and the action lamp continue to flash after investigating the cause.A Warning Category 3 alerts the operator that engine shutdown should occur as soon as possible. This helps prevent injury to the operator or potential damage to the machine.A Warning Category 3 causes both action lamp (6) and the alert indicator to flash. A Warning Category 3 also causes the action alarm to sound.Note: Do NOT operate the machine until the cause of the warning has been corrected.For the transmission system, the GEN III Display shows problems that can activate alert indicator (6) follow. Problems that appear below in bold text indicate a possible Warning Category 3.
