Unlatch the engine hood and raise the engine hood.

The above photograph shows the location of the secondary filter.
Remove the fuel filter. Inspect the fuel filter for debris by cutting the fuel filter open.Note: The secondary fuel filter is a cartridge type filter. The filter cannot be reused.Note: Used filters and used fluids should always be disposed of according to established local regulations.
Clean the filter mounting base. Make sure that all of the old seal is removed.

Lubricate the seal of the new filter with clean diesel fuel.
Install the new filter by hand. Additionally tighten the filters by 3/4 of a turn, after the gasket contacts the filter base.The filter has rotation index marks that are spaced at 90 degree intervals. Use these rotation index marks as a guide for proper tightening.
Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Fuel System Priming Pump - Operate".
